Training a dog

What does it mean to "train a dog"?

Dog Training includes a large spectrum of related pieces. It's not just sit and stay, it's

  • Formal Obedience Sit, Down, Stand, Let's Go, Come
  • Informal Obedience greeting people, meeting other dogs, place in the household
  • Breed Fulfillment digging, running, biting
  • Dealing with unwanted behaviours
  • Progressive Work and Skill Growth over years
  • Personal Connection
  • Neutrality

Luring

Starting small helps build a strong foundation for bigger steps.

Don't worry, we will eventually start using less direct luring — but you need to start small!

Voice commands

You'll do yourself a huge favour by keeping words to a minimum at the start and sticking with noises as long as possible.
